This is Zipp's innovative all-road handlebar, the Service Course SL 70 XPLR. The bar's moniker, XPLR, exemplifies the desire to explore the world with an expanded definition of cycling on a drop bar bicycle—from paved roads onto gravel, mud, dirt, and even single track. The Service Course SL 70 XPLR helps you go faster by placing your body, starting with your hands, in an optimal "comfort zone" position for hours of rough riding over mixed terrain. The ergonomic evolution of Ritchey handlebars continues with the ground-breaking Comp Beacon. The most notable feature is its super-wide 36° drop flare. Aside from the unmatched ergonomic comfort and stability afforded by this wide flare, it also allows for plenty of space for handlebar packs.
When riding in the drops, the Beacon doubles down on comfort with a very shallow 80mm drop and a shorter than usual reach. The Evo-style top section offers broad support for your hands, and it has a gentle backward sweep for a more natural hand position when riding the tops.
The unconventional aesthetic of the Comp Beacon belies its comfort and practicality. Taking inspiration from the randonneur world, the Beacon allows an easy transition of the hands around the bar without upsetting bike handling when loaded with gear. The gentle change of hand position allows the body to stretch and move while keeping the bike stable.
Ideal for adventure touring and bikepacking, on asphalt or gravel trails—or even for urban riding—the unique Comp Beacon brings a whole new level of comfort and control.

Tom Ritchey has been riding off-road and riding far – and designing products for such adventures - decades before anyone thought to call it “gravel riding” or “bikepacking.” His real-life experiences directly inform every product made by Ritchey – such as the beloved VentureMax handlebar. With its short reach, shallow drop and purposeful flare, the original VentureMax offers comfort and confidence to legions of riders looking to settle in and have some fun on those dirty drop bar adventures.
Like its WCS- and Comp-level siblings, the new RL1 VentureMax is influenced by those life experiences and inspires riders to chase gravel and other mixed surface adventures. But the RL1 VentureMax also delivers Ritchey’s unwavering reliability and practical performance for budget-minded riders looking for components to upgrade their current ride or to complete their next build.
With its round tops, short reach, and shallow drop the RL1 VentureMax offers multiple hand positions for comfort and confidence on any ride. Bolstering its comfort and performance in the rough stuff is its wide 24-degree flare at the drops. But it’s the Bio-bend in the drop that adds yet another design element that is practical and welcome for whatever surface you choose to ride upon and for however long your adventure endures.

The bar's moniker, XPLR, exemplifies the desire to explore the world with an expanded definition of cycling on a drop bar bicycle — from paved roads to gravel, mud, dirt, and even singletrack. Light weight, comfort, and strength: the new SL-70 Ergo is the ultimate handlebar for long days in the saddle. The SL-70 Ergo combines the flat bar top shape of the beloved Contour SL bar with numerous modern features sought after by riders and pro bike fitters. The SL-70 Ergo sports a 70mm reach and 128mm drop. The short 70mm reach has been a popular choice in recent years, as it allows bike fitters flexibility in achieving a comfortable position without sacrificing steering control. The drop utilizes a variable radius, allowing for multiple hand positions and deeper movement into the drop. As a result, reach to the brake lever is shorter. A 3° backsweep on the flat tops keeps the wrist in a comfortable position, essential for long days on pavement or gravel, while the 10° ramp angle provides a smooth transition to modern shifter hoods. Brake and shifter housing is elegantly hidden along the underside of the bar.
- Updated distinctive Zipp cosmetics
- Unidirectional carbon built for stiffness, comfort, and light weight
- Flattened top shape with 3° backsweep for comfort
- Variable radius drop for multiple hand positions and deeper movement into the drop.

The evolution of Ritchey handlebars continues with the Comp ErgoMax. This new bar enjoys a rich history of handlebar design and development and combines it with the modern demands of discerning riders who enjoy riding varying surfaces.
Designed to enhance control and comfort when riding along loose surfaces, the ErgoMax is ideal for a gravel bike since it places the hands in a wider, more stable position while in the drops. The ErgoMax is just as perfectly situated on road bikes that are built for endurance, its ergonomics delivering unparalleled comfort.
The bar tops employ a 10mm rise at the clamping area, which offers a slightly more upright riding position. They are then ovalized and have a slight 4-degree rearward sweep to more evenly distribute the weight of the rider's hands and wrists, also putting them in a more natural position.
Continuing with an eye towards ergonomics, the ErgoMax also features drops with a nice 12-degree flare to keep the rider's hands in a comfortable and confident position, while also adding a bit more unobstructed stability when turning or sprinting.
The new Ritchey ErgoMax bar delivers more control, welcome comfort, and increased confidence when riding gravel, setting out on multi-day adventures, or rolling along those long miles of tarmac.

The ergonomic evolution of Ritchey handlebars continues with the ground-breaking WCS Beacon. The most notable feature is its super-wide 36° drop flare. Aside from the unmatched ergonomic comfort and stability afforded by this wide flare, it also allows for plenty of space for handlebar packs.
When riding in the drops, the Beacon doubles down on comfort with a very shallow 80mm drop and a shorter-than-usual reach. The Evo-style top section offers broad support for your hands, and it has a gentle backward sweep for a more natural hand position when riding the tops.
The unconventional aesthetic of the WCS Beacon belies its comfort and practicality. Taking inspiration from the randonneur world, the Beacon allows an easy transition of the hands around the bar without upsetting bike handling when loaded with gear. The gentle change of hand position allows the body to stretch and move while keeping the bike stable.
Ideal for adventure touring and bikepacking on asphalt or gravel trails—or even for urban riding—the unique WCS Beacon brings a whole new level of comfort and control.

Tom Ritchey has been riding off-road and riding far—and designing products for such adventures—decades before anyone thought to call it "gravel riding" or "bikepacking." His real-life experiences directly inform every product made by Ritchey—such as the beloved VentureMax handlebar. With its short reach, shallow drop, and purposeful flare, the original VentureMax offers comfort and confidence to legions of riders looking to settle in and have some fun on those dirty drop bar adventures.
Like the original, the Classic VentureMax is influenced by those life experiences, with some added new features—continuing to inspire riders to chase gravel and other mixed-surface adventures. Adding a touch of stylish sophistication with its high-polish silver finish, the Classic VentureMax features aero-shaped 38x22.5mm ergonomic tops for a more comfortable hand position, while drilling for a Shimano EW-RS910 junction box expands the adaptability of the WCS VentureMax.
Multiple hand positions are key for comfort and confidence on any ride, and the Classic VentureMax offers plenty of options there—especially with its wide 24-degree flare at the drops. But it's the return of the Bio-bend in the drop that adds yet another design element that is practical and comfortable for whatever surface you choose to ride upon and for however long your adventure endures.

Most ultra-light bars sacrifice stiffness, durability and drop length to save weight, but not Easton's. For all the off-road drop bar fans, Velo Orange offers the Far Bar, an affordable off-road drop bar. With off-road drop bars, most riders have the bars set up at the same height as they would have flat bars set to. Most of the time you are riding, your hands are on the hoods of the brake levers. Then, for steep descents, put your butt back behind the saddle and use the drops to get a better grip on the brake levers. You can run brifters or standard road brake levers on them and use bar end shifters as well.
The Daija Cycleworks crest appears on each side of the 31.8 mm clamp area.
These bars are a little different then road bars in terms of measuring the width. The listed width - 44cm or 48 cm - is measured center of the drops to centre of the hoods. The overall width is 585mm for the 44cm size, 625mm for the 48cm size.
