In HERO mode, Horizon Leveling gives you a smooth cinematic look where you’re getting sideways, flipping through the air or going on an adventure. In HERO mode, Max TimeWarp video lets you create time lapse footage which automatically adjusts depending on what you are recording, and you can slow things down up by up to 2x for SLO-MO shots.

Capture 18mp photos and make amazing 270 degree distortion-free panoramic photos without having to scan the horizon. Portrait orientation stills and videos are perfect for social media and you can use a timer for selfies and group shots.

Almost all the software for the GoPro Hero 8 has been updated and improved. Hero 8 lets you customize everything all at the tap of a finger. Simple changes lets you switch between video modes with all your favorite settings dialed in. You can personalize your home screen for the modes you use most. A simpler design that requires less time to find what you need at your fingertips.

Enhanced images with HDR (high dynamic range) in SuperPhoto look more natural and it does a better job with moving subjects, which tend to blur. There is also a TimeWarp mode making high speed videos easier to create, and time lapse mode has been updated. Another plus, RAW images are available in all photo modes that use the wide lens, including time lapse.

Now that GoPro 8 is cage-free, GoPro has developed a line of accessories called Mods. There are 3 Mods that are launching with the camera, an attachment with more ports, a flip-up display, and an LED light.
